Whytrig Y6 footballers competed in the NUFC Foundation Football Tournament for Northumberland Schools today (28 November) along with 15 other schools.
They were successful in the group games playing three and winning three, this meant that they qualified for the semi final against Bede Academy.
After a closely fought game where Whytrig twice came from behind the match was decided by a penalty shootout with Whytrig winning 4-3 in sudden death to progress to final.
Whytrig won the final 2-1 against St Aiden's which means that they will represent Northumberland in the regional finals to be held at the NUFC training ground in February 2019.
Well done everyone!
