We welcomed a visitor from Seaton Valley Food Bank into school this week to talk to us about the fantastic work of the food bank and its importance in our community. We learned about the people the food bank supports and how we can help this charity and those in our local community.
Parents, carers and staff, if you feel able to help and make a donation, we have a food bank collection point within school. It would be lovely to fill this up before the Christmas holiday.
We’ve made some suggestions of the kinds of items we are requesting from each year group and staff so that we can try to collect as wide a range of goods as possible. These are just suggestions and any items will be gratefully received.
Year 5: Breakfast items such as cereal, long-life milk, jam or cereal bars.
Year 6: Lunch items such as beans, spaghetti, jars of meat paste, soup or tinned fish/meat.
Year 7: Dinner items pasta, pasta sauce, curry sauce, rice, tinned meat, fruit or vegetables.
Year 8: Snack items such as teabags, coffee, tins of rice pudding or custard, crackers or crisps.
Staff: Personal items such as deodorant, shampoo, soap, washing-up liquid, sanitary or baby products.
