ACHS is very proud of student Elliot who has been selected to play cricket at county level. Elliot is a batsman for Bates Cottages Cricket Club where his coach was contacted by the county squad to watch him batting. Elliot was then invited to trials in October which resulted in him being offered a place on the Northumberland County Cricket U16 squad. Elliot trains once a week with his local club and once a week with the Northumberland squad. He will get to travel and play matches elsewhere in the country with Northumberland County Cricket. Elliot said: “I enjoy playing cricket, it’s fun and if other students are interested they should join a cricket club, they’ll enjoy it.”

Mr Carbutt, Year 11 SPL said: “This is a fantastic achievement from Elliot and something he should be proud of. Representing your county at any level and any sport is always a big deal. Elliot is another student who has played Cricket from a young age and I am pleased to see he is doing so well and I hope he will continue to play the sport well into the future.”
