Seaton Sluice Middle School pupils have been working with a campaign group called 'Surfers Against Sewage’ who are trying to reduce the amount of plastic pollution in the environment. This morning children have been participating in interactive activities via a live streaming event online. These included sessions on ‘pupil power’ and having a voice to make a change; looking at footage of some of the worst polluted areas of the world; the devastating effect on wildlife that pollution causes; and what we can all do to help. Our pupils are now looking to start reducing our use of plastics in school. We started with a litter pick around the school grounds which showed just how much plastic ends up in the local environment on a daily basis.
