On Wednesday 8th June, a team of six Year 8 pupils from Whytrig Middle School took part in the IET Faraday challenge at the Dukes School in Ashington. This is a national STEM challenge with a focus on engineering which aims to develop engineering and workplace skills among Year 8 pupils.
The aim was to design and engineer a solution to a problem and then present their prototype to the judges. Although our team didn’t win, they did extremely well and produced an excellent design and working prototype. An fantastic day was enjoyed by all and the pupils were pleased to receive a goody bag for their efforts.
