Quite appropriately Year 9 enjoyed some extreme weather last week...not just outside at lunchtime but in their lessons as part of their themed teaching week. Students have had their lessons linked through the theme of extreme weather with some excellent creative and interesting learning taking place.
Whilst we have been enjoying the lovely sunshine, extreme weather across the globe is a serious topic and Year 9s have been working through some case studies in geography and evaluating the controversial topic of climate change in history. Whilst in English students have made an extreme weather figurative language quilt and some stormy soundscapes, making lots of noise! In Art and Design lessons extreme weather has been brought to life through weather figurines - think a tiny tornado or a sizzling hot heatwave toy!
