On Monday, Mrs Campbell took a team of six Year 8 pupils to the Duke's school in Ashington to compete against five other schools in the region in this year's IET Faraday Challenge.
The day consists of the teams being set an engineering design challenge. They had to design an object to solve an engineering problem, build a prototype and then present their design and prototype to the judges, Dragon's Den style. They also had to complete paperwork as they went, including a tight budget.
The team performed extremely well and although Whytrig Middle School didn't win on this occasion, Mrs Campbell was so proud of how well they all worked together under pressure and was also very impressed by their excellent presentation skills.
The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the day. Well done to everyone involved.
