What an amazing week we have had a Whytrig Middle School during our forensics and crime week. We have welcomed Police Officers talking to us about how evidence is gathered and submitted to solve crimes; demonstrations from Police Dogs and their handlers showing us how the dogs can detect a variety of substances including, blood and bones; how they can stop and retain a person and so much more. The students also enjoyed trying on jackets and hats.
We also welcomed teams from Newcastle College and University who showed us how to gather and detect evidence in laboratory conditions.
So much fun and learning!
