We are very proud of Matthew in Year 7; He was nominated for the Star Learner Award by his Drum Tutor Mr Reid. Each half term tutors are asked to nominate students who have been outstanding in lessons.
Mr Reid told us, "During the Easter Holidays, Matthew passed his Grade 1 Drums Exam with a merit which is a great first achievement with gradings. As well as this, Matthew, along with his band mates, was also involved in performing in the Newcastle Schools Band Fest at RGS in Newcastle where they did their school proud!"
Matthew has a passion for music and his bnd was the youngest band at the Band Fest. He started to play the drums at an early age following in his Grandfather’s footsteps.
