We were delighted that former Senior Student Callum Milner had won the prestigious Northumbria University Allstars Award on Thursday evening.
Callum recently began his Primary Education Degree at Northumbria University after finishing Sixth Form study at Astley Community High School.
Callum was nominated for the award by a number of Astley staff because of his community work within the school.
Every morning Callum would dedicate his time before school to preparing, toasting and buttering bagels so that every student in Astley had something to eat for breakfast.
Callum did not know he was to be given this award and he was delighted to receive £1,500. He has decided to use this money to buy a laptop to help him with his studies.
