Young People in the County Head to the Polls
Thousands of students across Northumberland took part in the Youth Elections on Wednesday to choose their new Youth Cabinet and Youth Parliament members.

More than 7,000 students aged 11-18 from middle, high, and secondary schools voted in this year’s annual Youth Elections.

The votes were counted and the results were announced at County Hall in Morpeth.

Two candidates from Astley Community High School stood for elections this year.

Levi D in Year 9 stood in the Youth Parliament election and Alfie H in Year 10 stood in the Youth Cabinet election.

Levi unfortunately did not get enough votes this time, but we are delighted to report that Alfie won and has been elected to the Northumberland Youth Cabinet.
