This term Year 8 have been learning how to ask for food, understand prices and respond to questions they might encounter at a market. They have had to get their heads around the very confusing French number system over 60 in order to be able to ask for higher quantities of foods, and I have been very impressed by the resilience shown as they tried to navigate doing Maths, in French!
Currently, Year 8 are doing their speaking assessments, where they are playing the role of a customer at a market. Many pupils find this experience quite stressful, but so far I’ve been really impressed with their bravery and positive attitudes, and it’s been really pleasing to hear some fantastic pronunciation.
