Our chick eggs arrived on Tuesday and we were advised they would be hatching on Thursday.  However, they came early with all 7 eggs hatching on Wednesday!  It was so thrilling to watch the chicks as they pipped their way out of their shells.  It has been a wonderful opportunity for our Year 5 children to have this first-hand experience as part of their Life Cycles topic in Science.  After we transferred the chicks to their brooder cage, all children across the school have been able to handle the chicks and enjoy the fluffy cuteness!  This year, we even have some chicks with different colourings which the children have been enthused to name.  We look forward to another week of petting and learning more about our new additions to SSMS before they are returned.
