Over the past six weeks, 18 Year 7 pupils have been taking part in Peer Mentor training, delivered by Stacey from the Be You team. Through weekly one-hour sessions, pupils have developed the knowledge, confidence and skills needed to support their peers.
Their final training session takes place next week, after which they will be presented with their Peer Mentor badge and will achieve an AQA Unit Award in Level 2 Peer Mentoring.
This week’s session saw pupils taking part in a range of team-building activities designed to strengthen their listening, communication and teamwork skills. They demonstrated excellent enthusiasm and commitment throughout the programme, and we look forward to seeing them put their new skills into practice as Peer Mentors within our school community.
