Pupils from across the Seaton Valley Federation attended the Ignite Speech Competition at the Grand Hotel, Gosforth on Tuesday 25 June 2019.
The SVF have been involved in a project called Voice North of the Tyne, which is an Oracy-based project. Oracy is the development of speaking and listening skills in students, to equip them with the skills for their future lives.
All three schools have embedded Oracy into their curriculum in some way this year, and the end of the project was marked with an 'Ignite speeches' event at Gosforth Park Hotel. Two students were picked to represent each school and they gave a two minute speech about something that was personal to them.
Two of our students made it to the final nine. Well done!
