Year 12 students at Astley Community High School had the opportunity to visit the Northumbria University campus in Newcastle on Friday 10 December.

They participated in a seminar on critical thinking and heard about how to decide which courses and universities are most suitable. We were then shown how to sign up and participate in the NU Entry programme. Students were offered a free lunch from the Northumbria University campus catering services. After lunch students enjoyed a tour of the campus and then ended the afternoon in Sports Central where they had the chance to beat Mr Drought and Mr Ironside at Dodgeball!

Northumbria University is one of the most popular destinations for our sixth forms students and many students are eligible for their widening participation scheme NU Entry.
